Mindfulness-Based Sports Counseling for Young Athletes

35% of athletes suffer from burnout, disordered eating, anxiety, and/or depression.
Building mental resilience through sport psychology can boost athletes' confidence by 65%.
A 2020 study found that psychological skills training and mindfulness led to performance improvements in athletes, and specifically helped in areas of emotional regulation and attention/focus.
My name is Neil Place, and I’m a Sports Counselor.
Whether it’s managing stress, handling setbacks, staying focused, or building confidence, every athlete faces challenges that go beyond the scoreboard. That’s where sports counseling comes in.
I work with young athletes to help them navigate the ups and downs of their sport with mindfulness, emotional awareness, and mental skills training. My approach isn’t just about improving performance—it’s about developing the tools to handle pressure, bounce back from adversity, and build a strong sense of identity, both on and off the field.
For parents, this means giving your athlete a structured, supportive space to work through the mental and emotional challenges that come with competitive sports. For athletes, it means having someone in your corner who gets it—and who will push you to grow.
Purchasing a package means investing in yourself and your future. I’m here to guide you, challenge you, and support you every step of the way.
Let’s get started.
My mission is to empower young athletes to thrive in sports and life by integrating mindfulness practices and values-based coaching, fostering holistic development and resilience.
